You do not pay twice. Instead of having to buy the limited areas preveiously available, or stump up for the whole of the UK, you can now order any area of 1: You pay for whatever tiles you need.

Can anyone tell me what happens if I own a map to, say, a national park but am planning a route that goes both through and outside of the tiles I already own? You just buy a code for however much mapping and unless I got it wrong you don't retain any unused "credit".
